BANDIT Quick Start

Quick start

Five minutes and you're mining. Grab your phone and your WiFi password.

One thing first: BANDIT is 2.4 GHz only. Nearly every setup that goes wrong, goes wrong there.

Something already wrong? Jump to the fixes

Set it up

  1. Plug it in One lead, one port on the back. Some artwork, the badge, then the setup screen. Nothing to press.
  2. Scan the left QR code That puts your phone on the machine's own WiFi. The name and password are printed right there on the glass if you'd rather type them.
  3. The setup page opens Usually by itself. If it doesn't, scan the right QR code instead.
  4. Pick your WiFi, type your password Leave the Bitaxe box empty, it finds itself. Hit Save & connect and give it fifteen seconds. Your phone may blink off the machine's network and come back. That's normal.
  5. Hold the screen to confirm your miner It searches your network for up to half a minute first, so a blank moment here is normal. Hold, don't tap. About a second. A tap only moves to the next one in the list. This trips up almost everybody.
  6. That's it The dot in the top corner pulses gold once the miner is answering, and the reels start turning. Every share it finds is a pull.

Last thing, and it matters

A card pops up asking for your payout address. Scan its QR code to open AxeOS, the miner's own dashboard.

Open the Pool menu and put a Bitcoin address you control in the User field. Save, and the miner restarts.

Until you do, any reward goes to the miner's factory address instead of yours. Ten seconds now, or a very sad day later.

Most pools also let you tag the machine: youraddress.bandit. The part after the dot is just a name and changes nothing about where the money lands.

Now play with it

The whole machine is one button. It cares how long you press, not where.

Tap Next screenFive of them, including your real odds of hitting a block.
Hold 1s Change colourEight colorways. Go find your favourite.
Hold 2s Clear a winOnly needed after you hit a block.
If it ever looks frozen, check whether it says BLOCK FOUND. That isn't a crash. That's the best day of your life. Hold two seconds when you're done staring at it.

If something's off

My WiFi isn't in the list
It's a 5 GHz network. Choose Other network and type the 2.4 GHz name.
The setup page won't load
Check your phone is still on the BANDIT-XXXX network, then try 192.168.4.1. Turn any VPN off.
It says my password was refused
Nothing got saved, so just go again. Tick Show password and watch for an auto-capitalised first letter.
Tapping the miner list does nothing
Tap moves the highlight. Hold picks it.
Red dot, LOOKING FOR MINER
It lost the miner, or your router blipped. It hunts on its own. Give it a minute before touching anything.
The temperature is red
Over 68 °C. Give it more air, and keep it out of cupboards and sunlight.
There's a DEMO tag
It's showing pretend data and isn't mining. Hold the screen six seconds to get out.
I can't find where to put my address
It's in AxeOS, not on BANDIT. Tap through to the MINER SETTINGS screen and scan the QR there, then look under Pool for the User field.
Still stuck
Email us. Nobody has ever bothered us too early.

Leave it running. Mining is a numbers game and every hour off is a roll you didn't take.

Your pull count and any block you find are saved forever, even through a power cut.
